What are the project submission guidelines?
The submissions of Projects for the Makerthons are focused on two core deliverables to be created and presented during the one-day event. Teams must produce a functional minimum viable product [MVP] or prototype that utilizes AI and addresses a challenge within the 5 thematic areas of focus of the Makemation Festivals being AI for Education, AI for Government/Public Sector, AI for Healthcare, AI for Agriculture and AI for Security/Defense.
Is the festival free?
No. Access Tickets for Students are for the affordable sum of N2,500. Other Ticket Categories are also available for Corporate Executives and Organizations.
What is the purpose of the festival?
The Makemation National Youth AI Festivals is a nationwide initiative designed to mobilize, inspire and equip young Nigerians with the essential AI, tech and entrepreneurship skills required to access opportunities and compete within the global creative and digital economies. The core strategy is to leverage the inspirational power of the Makemation feature film to drive action and learning. By blending entertainment, hands-on innovation through hackathons, and direct career access via job fairs, it ensures participants are prepared to build, innovate and secure opportunities.

Who organizes the festival?
The festivals are organized by Rise Interactive Studios; the producer of Makemation, Africa’s first feature film on Artificial Intelligence and DeyMake; Africa’s pioneering user generated content platform, in partnership with Rise Networks and Events Intel.
Which universities will host the festival?
The festival will be held across 12 universities in Nigeria, cutting across all six geopolitical zones. Each school will have its own festival date.
